George Leighton to Receive Cardinal Bernardin Award
George N. Leighton will receive the prestigious Cardinal Bernardin Award on Friday, May 6th at The Hilton Chicago. The Award, given by the Chicago Legal Clinic, Inc at its annual award dinner, is presented for "action on behalf of social justice, advocacy for the less advantaged, and passionate promotion of the ideal that we are our brother's keeper." The Chicago Legal Clinic, Inc. is a not-for-profit corporation which provides low cost and no cost legal services to the poor in the Chicago metropolitan area. Since its formation in 1981, more than 225,000 people have sought advice from the Clinic's attorneys for matters ranging from domestic violence to foreclosure.
