Attorneys Langdon D. Neal and Jeanette Sublett Tour the Construction Site for the New Black Ensemble Theater Cultural Center
Attorneys Langdon Neal and Jeanette Sublett participated in the hard hat tour of the construction site for the New Black Ensemble Theater Cultural Center (“BE Center”) held June 29th located on the north side of Chicago. The BE Center’s grand opening is scheduled for November 18th. Neal and Sublett, Capital Campaign co-chairs for the new BE Center, have dedicated countless hours spearheading an aggressive fundraising effort to develop the $18 million state-of-the art performance and learning complex, and have provided legal support to the BE Theater. National recording star Dionne Warwick serves as the National Honorary Chairperson of the Capital Campaign.
Founded in 1976, by the phenomenal producer, playwright and actress Jackie Taylor, the BE Theater has grown from a small community arts organization to a nationally and internationally recognized arts institution. The mission of BE is to eradicate racism and its damaging effects upon our society through the theater arts. BE achieves its mission by producing live theater performances that bring the history and culture of African American people alive to a multi-cultural audience of more than 60,000 people per year.
