Meg E. George
Ms. George concentrates her practice in real estate law. She is certified as a Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design Accredited Professional (LEED®-AP) by the U.S. Green Building Council.
While in law school, Ms. George served as a clerk for the Honorable Anne M. Burke in the Illinois Appellate Court. She also worked as a clerk in the civil division of the Cook County State’s Attorney Office. She studied international law at Beijing Foreign Studies Institute through a program offered by DePaul’s law school. The program focused on the legal principles and planning related to international transactions in the Asia-Pacific Region and provided a comprehensive overview of China’s legal system.
Representative Matters
- Represented clients on a broad range of legal issues relating to real estate and municipal law matters involving the acquisition, sale and development of real estate, zoning, subdivision and related land use practice areas.
- Represented owners of shopping centers, convenience stores, hospitals, hotels, residential, commercial and mixed-use buildings, office complexes and open space/conservation areas, in the City of Chicago and suburban villages.
- Appeared and made presentations before the Chicago Zoning Board of Appeals, the Chicago Plan Commission, the Zoning Committee of the City Council of the City of Chicago and the City Council of the City of Chicago
- Appeared and made presentations before the Village of Barrington Plan Commission, Village Board and Architectural Review Commission, Village of Huntley Village Board and Plan Commission and various other municipal committees of these jurisdictions.
- Appeared before various community groups and organizations in connection with proposed developments for particular sites.
