Amal Shaqildi is a paralegal with over 14 years of experience in the areas of real estate, zoning and land use, real property tax assessment and corporate law. Amal assists with all aspect of the firm’s real estate law practice, including governmental, commercial and residential development projects. She prepares real estate contracts for review by firm attorneys and other documents, reviews surveys, drafts legal descriptions and exhibits, reviews and analyzes title commitments and conducts due diligence reviews. Amal has worked on eminent domain matters and is experienced with court proceedings and court filing procedures. Amal has developed extensive skills in zoning and land use and works with the firm’s zoning practice group, as well as teams of architects, engineers, traffic consultants needed to successfully complete projects through what is often a complex approval process.

Assist attorneys with the review of real estate development and zoning requirements for governmental, commercial, residential, community facility and mixed-use developments

Real estate tax experience includes reviewing and tracking of assessment notices and tax bills, communicating with assessor and taxing authorities, preparing and processing real estate exemption complaints and assessor’s annual exemption reports, filing real estate assessed valuation complaints, survey and sidwell map review, exhibit preparation, and drafting legal description.

Corporate duties include preparing and reviewing legal documents, updating and maintaining corporate records, assisting with entity formation and organization and performing UCC searches, IRS and Secretary of State filings.

Amal is an active member of her church and serves in the children’s ministry. In her spare time, she volunteers at the Chicago Park District assisting with the girls’ gymnastic team and enjoys spending time with her family.
