Ms. Huffman concentrates her practice in the areas of real estate, eminent domain, zoning, and land use. She also represents clients in general corporate matters, commercial litigation and employment issues. In connection with her eminent domain practice, Ms. Huffman represents both property owners and governmental bodies alike, and has been trial counsel in several jury trials involving land acquisition matters. 


Representative Matters

  • Counsel for City of Chicago in land acquisition matters and eminent domain litigation.

  • Represent municipalities and public bodies in connection with land acquisition projects, ranging in size from single parcel to hundreds of parcels.

  • Counsel and trial attorney on behalf of property owners in eminent domain matters obtaining favorable verdicts in multiple jury trials.

  • Land Use and Zoning counsel for property owners and developers, including appearances before municipal boards, commissions and committees on zoning matters.

  • Advise private companies on issues regarding hiring, leaves of absence/accommodations, reductions in force, and investigations under Title VII and the ADEA.

  • Litigate employment disputes in state and federal court, on behalf of both employers and employees.

  • Former outside counsel to established Chicago restaurant group of 15+ entities, providing strategic legal and business advice on wide range of labor and employment issues.
