Partner and Managing Member Richard F. Friedman recently won a lawsuit defending our client in a lawsuit in federal court claiming interference with the contract. The plaintiff sued the City of Chicago and our client, the Chicago Sports Commission (the CSC), a division of the Chicago Convention and Tourism Bureau. The plaintiff, an advertising firm, had entered an agreement with the City to allow the plaintiff to project advertising on the skyscrapers surrounding Millennium Park. Later, the City canceled the agreement, thereby preventing the plaintiff from using Millennium Park for this purpose. Although the plaintiff claimed that the CSC caused the City to cancel the contract, we were able to show the court that there was insufficient evidence supporting the claim and that CSC should be dismissed out of the lawsuit. National Experiential v. City of Chicago, United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois, No 21-cv-810.
