Neal & Leroy represents Tribune Media in what is being called one of Chicago’s Mega Developments, the River District, located in the River West area of the City. The River District is a 37-acre development proposed for River West. On the 30-acre portion south of Chicago Avenue, Tribune Media is planning a mixed use project containing approximately 8.5 million square feet of development including 14 buildings, 4,400 apartments, approximately 12 acres of public open space, new publicly dedicated streets and the potential to create up to 19,000 jobs. Neal & Leroy attorneys Scott Borstein and Langdon Neal worked closely with the City’s Department of Planning and Development and Alderman Walter Burnett to obtain the necessary legal entitlements needed to make the project a reality. Architect Solomon Cordwell Buenz designed the project. The project has been approved by the Chicago Plan Commission and the City Counsel of Chicago.
