Carol D. Stubblefield

Ms. Stubblefield concentrates her practice in the areas of zoning, development, and land use, corporate and transactional. Her zoning, development and land use practice involves new development rezoning, zoning opinions, special use permits, representation of residential and commercial developers in site plan approvals, and special exceptions to change use when repurposing land or building vertical subdivision, master plan site plan approvals, or building permit acquisition.

In her business and corporate practice, Ms. Stubblefield represents numerous individuals and entities in business entity formation, corporate matters, shareholder and partnership agreements, financings, and general corporate law.


Representative Matters

Counsel to Roosevelt University in connection with the construction of the University’s new vertical campus in the South Loop. Legal counsel included an amendment to an existing Planned Development and approval under the Lake Michigan and Chicago Lakefront Protection Ordinance. The proposed project required presentations before and approval from the Chicago Plan Commission and Committee on Zoning.

Counsel to Northwestern Memorial Hospital in connection with a new Planned Development for the Hospital’s new day care center and parking garage in Streeterville. The project required presentations before and approval from the Chicago Plan Commission and Committee on Zoning. The project also required approval under the Lake Michigan and Chicago Lakefront Protection Ordinance and approval from City Council.

Counsel to Northwestern Memorial Hospital to amend a Planned Development for the construction of their new 1.2 million gross square foot medical office building in Streeterville. The project required presentations before and approval from the Chicago Plan Commission and Committee on Zoning.

Counsel to developers and property owners in development and redevelopment projects.

Representing property owners in land use and zoning matters.

Successfully represented developers in the acquisition and development of property.

Counsel to County of Cook for Old Cook County Hospital historic rehabilitation redevelopment agreements.
