The School of the Art Institute of Chicago awarded Richard Friedman a Diversity Infusion Grant. The grant award was for his course entitled the Law of Historic Preservation, which he gives in the master’s degree Historic Preservation program. The grant supports research necessary to make revisions that recognizes and furthers diversity and inclusion in the course curriculum. The grant committee selected Mr. Friedman’s proposal to incorporate into his course the contributions of minorities and non-establishment artists designers and scholars in the field of historic preservation.
