Neal & Leroy, LLC, a Chicago-based boutique law firm, is thrilled to announce a significant enhancement of its transactional capabilities with the addition of two partners, Brian D. Arnfelt and MacKinzie M. Neal.
Brian Arnfelt joins Neal & Leroy, as Managing Member and Chair of its Corporate Department, from Kirkland & Ellis, where he was a partner in their M&A / private equity group. Named a Rising Star by Super Lawyers magazine, Brian brings deep experience in complex business transactions, divestitures, and general corporate matters. A former investment banker at William Blair, Brian works to translate intricate legal issues into practical and actionable advice.
MacKinzie Neal joins as the Head of Technology Transactions and is an intellectual property and technology transactions attorney with broad expertise in privacy, cybersecurity, AI, blockchain and emerging technology matters. She has extensive experience structuring and negotiating commercial agreements across a wide range of industries, offering clients business-minded and actional legal advice. Before joining Neal & Leroy, MacKinzie was a senior attorney at Skadden.

Brian chairs the firm’s Corporate Practice and advises on business transactions including mergers & acquisitions, divestitures, and broader general corporate matters. He received his J.D., cum laude, from the University of Michigan Law School, where he served as Articles Editor of the Michigan Business & Entrepreneurial Law Review and received a certificate of merit in investment banking, and his B.S. from Northwestern University.
About MacKinzie Neal
MacKinzie chairs the firm’s Technology Transactions Practice and advises on intellectual property and technology transactions matters. MacKinzie previously served as a senior associate at Skadden, working at the intersection of law and technology, intellectual property and commercial transactions. She received her J.D. and B.A. from the University of Pennsylvania and a certificate in business management from The Wharton School. During her time at Penn Law, MacKinzie played a leading role in establishing the Journal of Law & Innovation and served as an editor of its inaugural issue.
